Every week, we pick our very favourite Tampa Bay events and give you the run down on the best and most date friendly shenanigans in town. We even check the weather for you if necessary, we're nice like that.
Monday 25th July - Sultry Safari at Busch Gardens
Live musicians, actors, singers and dancers from all all over the world, fire effects AND rollercoasters? It can only be Summer Safari Nights at Busch Gardens. While a little pricey (it's $79 for a day's admission to the park with Summer Safari Nights tickets included), the show really is fabulous and nothing beats the blood-curdling rides at night. Plus, once you've bought your day ticket, you're allowed back whenever you fancy, free, for the rest of the year. Second date anyone? The show kicks off at 5pm and the park closes at 9pm.
Tuesday 26th July - Cheap and Chilled $1 Movie
There's nothing quite like a hot, buttery popcorn and a movie after a long, stressful day at work. You don't have the energy to wine and dine yet you can rest assured, even though your kicking back, your beau will still love the fact that you made an effort on a Tuesday evening. It's cheap and cheerful but nobody does midweek, cheesy movies like the Dollar Theatre at Britton Plaza.
Wednesday 27th July - Rock Around the Clock
An evening of hot jazz, swing and rhythm 'n' blues playing on vintage turntables (complete with crackling speakers) to soundtrack your evening of swing dancing at the fabulously retro Gulfport Casino. These classes are brilliant for beginners; you'll learn how to swing with style, kick, travel and drip as well as quintessentially vintage Lindy Hop and Charleston steps. If the pair of you aren't giggly, loved up and giddy with adrenaline by the time you leave, I suggest you seen medical attention. You can arrive between 7pm and 8pm and there's a small $5 entry fee.
Thursday 28th July - City Bike Urban Restaurant Tour
The ultimate urban dining experience, this bike tour around Downtown Tampa allows you to get physical with one another while trying out new eateries. Make your way to SONO Cafe at Tampa Museum of Art at 5:40pm to meet the rest of the cycling tour, where you'll be treated to panini and gelato tasting. The tour will go on to include mouth-watering menu items from five different restaurants. Guests also receive raffle tickets for a prize draw at the last stop. $20 per couple. To participate, visit City Bike Tampa.
Friday 29th July - Sunset Cinema
End the week on the beach with a blanket, a bottle of wine and a sunset screening of Summer Eleven at Pier 60's sunset cinema in Clearwater. It's a free event that kicks of around 7pm with street performers, crafters and musical entertainemt before the films starts at 8:30pm. Deliciously romantic and a perfect way to start the weekend.
Every week, you can send us a photo of you and your beau enjoying one of our Dates of the Week for a special prize! Here's to a loved-up week for you all.
